About

We’re building the directory that local pros actually want.

Designed by a designer-developer who’s been on both sides — running a service agency for over a decade and watching small contractors lose to platforms built for advertisers.

The origin

Three moments turned this into a product.

The “I noticed” moment. After more than a decade of building websites and marketing systems for small businesses, the same complaint kept landing in our inbox from contractor clients: $300–$1,500 a month going to Thumbtack, Angi, and HomeAdvisor for tire-kicker leads, ghosting customers, and bidding wars they couldn’t win. The platforms were built for the advertiser, not the trade. Reviews held hostage, customer relationships rented, leads sold five times over.

The “I tried” moment. We started building one-off lead-gen sites for individual clients across a long tail of small contracting trades — each with its own stack, its own copy, its own admin. Every one of them worked. And every one of them was a 6-week build with no leverage. That’s when the pattern showed up: industry-specific stuff (the questions on the lead form, the hub copy, the FAQ) is content. The vetting flow, the directory, the CRM, the inbox — that’s product. If we treated industry as data instead of code, one platform could carry every trade.

The “I committed” moment. That’s near-me-platform. A single codebase, multi-vertical SaaS that any local trade can plug into in days. Sanity for the content layer, Postgres for the listings + leads, Stripe for the money, and a vetting flow that gives customers something Thumbtack-style platforms refuse to: a verified badge that actually means something. We build it in public — the roadmap, the business model, the spec docs are all public-facing. If we’re going to ask local pros to trust us with their livelihood, we owe them the same transparency in return.
